The official start of this year’s Association of Academic Physiatrists 2009 Annual Meeting is less than one week away. Be sure to visit WAVE at booth #16 at this year’s event.

Dr. Sidhu will be presenting on research and early applications of vibration exercise therapy during Course B - Technological Advances in Spinal Cord Injury Rehabilitation – on Saturday, February 28, 2009. Catharine Craven, MD, FRCPC, lead researcher at Toronto Rehabilitation Institute, will join Dr. Sidhu in presenting on clinical practice and research on vibration. Dr. Craven is currently undergoing research studies using the WAVE to determine the effects of vibration therapy on bone density in Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) patients. William Thornton, MPT, will join Dr. Sidhu and Dr. Craven in presenting the acute effects of whole body vibration on SCI populations.

WAVE donates vibration therapy unit to Rotary humanitarian effort
WAVE Whole-Body Advanced Vibration Exercise will join The Rotary Club of LaSalle-Centennial to announce the donation of a WAVE vibration therapy unit to Rotary Viklang Kendra, a limb replacement and polio rehabilitation centre in New Delhi. The announcement will take place Saturday, January 24 during the Rotary Club of LaSalle-Centennial’s second annual Crystal Drop Gala, “An Evening in India,” at Ambassador Golf Club in Windsor, Ontario.
Some of the top physicians in the country operate out of Rotary Viklang Kendra, where Windsor-developed WAVE technology will be used in assisting neuromuscular rehabilitation, including increasing strength, balance, and mobility of post-polio patients.
